This page describes how long Cashly keeps your data and how deletion works. It complements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Account data
Your profile, budgets, savings goals, bills, debts, and monthly plans are kept for as long as your Cashly account is active.
Transaction data
When you connect a bank account through Plaid, Cashly stores up to 24 months of historical transactions plus new transactions as they occur. Transactions are retained while the linked bank account remains connected.
Bank connection tokens
Plaid access tokens are stored encrypted server-side and are deleted immediately when you remove a bank connection or delete your account.
Audit and security logs
Sign-ins, password changes, two-factor events, and bank connection events are kept for 12 months for incident response, then permanently deleted.
Backups
Automated encrypted database backups are retained for 30 days for disaster recovery. After that they are purged. Deletion requests apply to backups on their normal 30-day rotation.
Data export
You can export your data at any time from Profile → Export data. The export is a JSON file containing your profile, transactions, budgets, goals, bills, debts, and monthly plans.
Deleting your account
You can delete your Cashly account from Profile → Danger zone. When you request deletion, Cashly immediately:
- Removes all budgets, goals, bills, debts, monthly plans, and transactions
- Deletes Plaid access tokens and disconnects linked banks
- Deletes your profile
- Cancels any active subscription (billing continues to end of period)
Legal holds
We may retain limited data longer than described above where required by law (for example, tax records, fraud investigations, or a court order). Retained data is minimized to what the obligation requires and remains protected by the same access controls.
